Have any of you noticed that when you are tuning the LD-5 that you get audio clicks and pops through the speaker? I find it annoying. It seems to happen more when you are tuning quickly.

LNR is working on this. I have no doubts that they will resolve it.

Hi, I’m just curious what version of firmware you are using. I’m on 1.77 and I don’t notice any clicks or pops when tuning. I do notice some clicking from the AGC when a strong signal comes on though. Maybe you have one of the newer ones that have the sidetone adjustment and firmware 1.79. Hope LNR resolves the problem for you.

    Dear fellows,
Real and experienced operator will never use VFO step more than position 1 or 2. Whn you have a manual on the site, and it clearly stated , that Si570 has been in use for main generator, the Duty cycle for 10Hz or 100Hz steps is not a problem to follow, the 1KHz or 10KHz are over the limit of speed of an IC.
Please , guys, do not create artificial problems, no one of you will use 1kHz or higher step.

Nick – This happens on position 1 on the VFO tuning. But only on very specific frequency transitions.

I sent my unit back to LNR and they took a look at it. Very good customer service. They did indeed determine that there are occasionally these types of transients that are caused by one of the chips in the radio as it can take 10msec for the PLL to lock onto a new frequency. This is normal. They are sending it back. I am satisfied with the result.
