What does the IF setting do in the FX-4a menu. The manual states that the default value is 0.0-0.700Hz. How does that setting affect the operation of the radio?

Does your FX-4A actually have that value in it? Mine has 00.000, not 00.700. I too am curious what it does and why mine doesn’t reflect the default in the manual. With so little information available on these radios it’s hard to figure some of this stuff out, still, I love my FX-4A. There’s a whole lot of love packed into a small space:-).

    Joel,
My IF setting is also 0.0000. I am interpreting it to mean that you can adjust it from 0.000 – 0.700hz
I am just not sure how changing that setting affects the radio. Hopefully, someone who knows will share 🙂
I am hoping that it will filter out the cw signal that is below zero beat because I hear the signal on both sides of zero beat. Maybe I should just try and see what happens.

Sure give it a try, if it doesn’t do what you thought change it back. I don’t see how it can hurt anything.
