    The LD-5 uses an audio generated tone to send CW via SSB. The audio tone is rich in harmonic content. Are there plans to address this issue in future firmware update?

    Based on the ARRLreview and tests, none were detectable on the receive end and were not transmitted at adetectable level. So I doubt there will be any changes in the near future.

    QRPME – Understand. I am planning to do some testing with digital modes soon as I hope to take the LD-5 with me to Oklahoma City between Christmas and New Years.

    I can hear the tones on a separate receiver. Using a spectrum analyzer program you can see two peaks one at about 600hz and another one a bit higher in freq. The cw signal sounds horrible. I wanted to reflash the firmware but 1.79 is not listed online. I sent an emailvto Ryan but havent heard anything.

    It turned out to be the cw sidetone adjustment. Must have been a dirty spot on the pot. Not sure if older models have that available.
