    What is “much higher than they were”? Can you give me some numbers?
    If you trimmed the 10 meter stub without setting the 40/20 first then you will have skewed 40/20. First get 40 meters correct. Then 20, then 15 and then 10.
    In my experience I haven’t had to trim any of the stubs once I get 40 correct.
    That may be because I tune for the low end of the band in the CW portion.
    Can you tell me what “Much higher” is?
    In other words if it went from 1:3 to 1:8, that’s not much.
    Really anything below 2:0 is ok with your rig.

    John,
    The Trail Friendly is out of the box at the very bottom of the bands.
    If you operate mostly SSB it will need to be shortened quite a bit.

    Instead of “cutting” the wire I recommend pulling it through the insulator and wrapping it tightly back around itself. That way you can retune for a different location or portion of the band later if you need to.
